“It was bullshit,” Miki Manning said, coming to the defense of her husband after he was selected to the FL All-Star team, but appeared only as a late inning pinch hitter, grounding into a 5-4 fielder’s choice and then getting thrown out stealing. “You’ve got Claudio Defazio at DH, and you sit Lucas for seven f-ing innings? No wonder the JL won the damned game.”
She went on to suggest serious homer-ism as the root of the Frick League’s loss—their first in three seasons, she said. “That alone should tell you something.”
MANNING INSERTING HERSELF INTO OTHER SITUATIONS
It’s not the only think the British popstar has been active in. With McNeill’s opt-out ready to be discussed at the end of the year, team insiders say the All-Star was nearing the point of signing a deal only to bump his demand. “This is nothing about the fans,” she said. “It’s about the front office. I’m not going to let him forget what that team did to him in that first year. That was bullshit, too. If there’s anything I’ve learned from managing my own career for so long is that you can’t let the people with the cash disrespect you like that. We love Yellow Springs, but their management probably cost Lucas $10M by now.”
If McNeill opts in, he’s be paid $10M for the last two seasons of his contract—assuming the team picks those options up, which you would think they’d be crazy to let go. Rumors are he’s looking for 6 years to be tacked onto that deal, and something in the range of $18M-$20M per in order to extend.
“He’s worth more than that,” Manning said.

there was definitely some funny business going on in the ASG, considering that Long Beach's rookie 2B Sloan Daniel played the full game in left field!
Maybe it was some FLP bias against the Heartland

California manager Alberto Franco isn't allowed to fill out his own lineup cards for a reason.
