Actress Kingsley To Face Charges?

The Yellow Springs Game One victory over Louisville wasn’t the only excitement in town this week, as the only YSPD was called to deal with a disruption at the downtown Residence Towers hotel and safehouse casino last night in which actress Vanessa Kingsley was rumored to have been taken to the Memorial hospital prompt care facility and then arrested. Details are sketchy, but gut of the hotel informed Nine Lives correspondents that the Canadian actress arrived at the hotel and asked to be connected to “the skank’s room,” then turned hostile when singer Mikki Manning arrived three minutes later.

Manning’s entourage apparently broke up the scuffle, but not before the singer dropped Kingsley to the floor with a 1-2 combo that was described as looking like some kind of cross between king-fu and a dance move. The actress was seen leaving the lobby under her own power, but bleeding from her nose and having an otherwise disheveled appearance while screaming. “you’ll godammned pay for this! You think this is done? This nose might have cost me a buttload of money, but it’s gonna cost you a helluva lot more, baby! A helluva lot!”

At the time of this writing there was no word on whether Kingsley would be formally charged, but witnesses also suggest that she reeked of alcohol and that her eyes were “all kinds of crazy.”

The singer was also detained for questioning, but was released on her own recognizance.

ImageThe two have been embroiled in a high profile triangle with Nine slugger Lucas McNeill, and had both publicly announced appearances at the club’s first playoff game. Kingsley, having been detained did not show, but Manning was in attendance and viewed the game from the comfort of the team’s courtesy suite where she hobnobbed with team brass and cheered the team on to a victory. She was not available to be interviewed to get her take on the kerfluffle, but seemed to make quite the impression.

“She’s very mature for her age,” said general manager Ron Collins of Manning. “You can tell she’s used to making the decisions on her career, and you can tell why she’s having a lot of success.” The young singer just turned 22, and is currently finishing a huge worldwide tour in which she’s making waves for being able to depict multiple characters on stage at various point of the show.

McNeill also had no comment about the tussle afterward, though the team was apparently pleased when Kingsley did not make an appearance. This may be due to a desire to avoid conflict that would detract from the team’s focus, or could be due to concerns that the previous times Kingsley made time with McNeill, his numbers fell off.

“The woman probably cost him a shot at the Sawyer Silk,” said one team insider while requesting to remain anonymous.
