YS9News 22.04 - Sim 12

The Nine finished July with a 4-7 sim. The record in the last two sims is 7-13 (.350). YS9.1 went 8-18 in July. The new average W-L projection by ootpou is 37-125. This is a 5-game increase in the win column from BC (before Crebel). The goal is to win 40 or 42, or even 43 which would mean avoiding losing 120 games. This sim the squad took 2 of 4 from Hawaii, went 1-2 against Madison and also against Omaha, and they lost a game against Halifax. All this was on the road.
Batters

The Batter-of-the-Sim is Newman 'Calico' Watson. The July call-up hit .422 with five home runs and ten rbis. He had a 1.236 OPS and this got him on the sim's top performers board. There will be more on Newman in another TN. He won JL POTW and also Rookie of the Month.

Nick Robinson hit .349 (.905 OPS).
Pitchers

July call-up Alberto Sanchez started three times and he got a win at last. This was going the distance against the Wolves. He also had a QS against Omaha. He was 1-2 2.57 for the sim (21 innings).

Frank Fuller gets a picture here (even though it looks like a zombie). I didn't know this guy was on the team until this sim. He is/was in the number 5 spot and doing so good that I didn't notice him. He went 2-0 3.55 this sim, with wins against Hawaii and Omaha. He has a 3.69 ERA in 22 starts this season (the next best ERA of a pitcher that qualifies has a 5.47).

Wayne Williams picked up some saves, three to be exact. Williams now has a 1.17 ERA in 7 games with the Nine (or Ten).
The team signed two free agents and picked up an Irishman off the waiver wire. I hope to write a TN about that.
