Mexico City and Portland strike deal
The Mexico City Aztecs and Portland Lumberjacks announced a deal that was completed today.

Lindberg
Portland sent RF Steve Lindberg, Minor league pitcher Curt Gilmore, and 28-year-old outfielder Alvin Conley in exchange for veteran starting pitcher Ji-e Woo and pitching prospect Lee Howard
The trade gives Mexico City a new starting right-fielder to replace current starter Charles Barling, who is set to become a free agent at the end of the season. Barling is asking north of 7 million, so the Aztecs have decided to move on from the former 1st round draft pick.
Gilmore is a prospect flyer, and Conley is a cap casualty thrown in to offset the contract of the departing Ji-e Woo.
The Aztecs tried to re-sign Woo, but talks broke down, and he was set to test free agency after refusing to negotiate further with the team.

Woo
For Portland, Woo provides an instant boost to their rotation and greatly improves their Wildcard chances.
The 35 year-old is already 1-0 with Portland after winning Player Of The Game in his first start with the Lumberjacks.
Lee Howard is a solid prospect that they picked up in the deal as well.
