Mexico City: The Mexico City Aztecs have announced that they have picked up the team option for Pitcher Dave Corfield for the 2063 season. He will make 11,000,000 as he starts his 18th season with the team.
"There was no question whether or not we were going to keep Dave around for another year. He has given so much to this team since joining in 2046 and we feel that even at 38 years old next season, that he can still pitch at a high level" said Aztecs GM Brandon Tucker. When asked if he'd be willing to trade the Aztecs legend should he waive his NTC, Tucker declined to comment.

In a lesser move, the team released once promising LF prospect Kadambi Kusagra. Kusagra was named the #15 prospect in the BBA as recently as the 2059 season, but his decline was sharp and sudden. Mexico City decided to outright release him instead of DFA, citing his lack of work ethic and drive, which led to numerous feuds with coaches and players.
