The trade deadline came and went this past Sunday with a ton of player movement. For Mexico City however, only one move was made.
The Aztecs shipped Right Fielder Chris Walker to the Rocky Mountain Oysters for RHP Tony Kaufman in an effort to strengthen their pitching depth.
"We worked the phones most of the day trying to get a few more deals done but ultimately nothing materialized" said Aztecs GM Brandon Tucker. "We didn't expect to be big players at the deadline, the deals we were looking into were mostly minor."
Mexico City sits five games back of Frontier Division leader Calgary and one game behind Las Vegas for 2nd place.
The Aztecs have 20 games left to close the distance. Of those 20, four are at Las Vegas and four at Calgary.
If the Aztecs are going to unseat either of these teams, they will have to do it on the road.
