2051.3: Three Sims Left

Post by Rubaboo » Thu Jul 28, 2022 8:59 am

Current Position: 92-54, 1st Place, JL Frontier
Lay of the Land: 5 games ahead of Calgary, 6 ahead of Phoenix in the Frontier race with a Magic Number of 11. 5 wins behind New Orleans for the JL's #1 seed.
Last Sim Results: 5-2
9/8: vs San Antonio - W, 14-2
9/9: vs Edmonton - W, 14-3
9/10: vs Edmonton - W, 9-1
9/11: vs Edmonton - W, 18-2
9/12: vs Edmonton - L, 0-3
9/13: vs Phoenix - L, 3-4
9/13: vs Phoenix - W, 5-2
Mathematically clinhed a playoff berth!

GM Commentary:
Woo! Playoffs! The base goal for the season can be checked off. Also, our offense put up some insane numbers this sim. We absolutely stomped San Antonio and the first three against Edmonton, scoring a lot of runs early in the game and chasing starters quickly. It would be great to get into a habit of doing that going into the post season. Calgary falling off a bit over the last week or two is helping me feel good about maintaining our position atop the Frontier. All it'll take is a bad week for us to fall back to the pack though, so let's keep the momentum going boys.

Upcoming Schedule (Season Head to Head):
9/15: vs Phoenix (9-3)
9/15: vs Phoenix (9-3)
9/16: vs Brooklyn (7-0)
9/17: @ El Paso (10-2)
9/18: @ El Paso (10-2)
9/19: @ Las Vegas (5-5)
9/20: @ Las Vegas (5-5)
9/21: @ Las Vegas (5-5)
9/22: @ Las Vegas (5-5)

GM Commentary:
Rain effect is evident in the schedule this week. A double header with Phoenix to start, then a rain makeup against Brooklyn before we hit the road for the week, heading to El Paso and Las Vegas. We've had success against Phoenix, Brooklyn, and El Paso this season, which is good, but the series against Vegas could be a big one. It would be nice to win the season series. It would be better to pull a sweep and give Atlantic City the opportunity to put a little pressure on the Hustlers. I don't think anyone would be disappointed to see Vegas miss out on the postseason tourney...

Confidence Rating:
8.25, up from 8. The offense was downright filthy for the first part of last sim before drying up a bit at the end of the week. Scoring 11 runs a few games in a row is nice, but evening out the performance would be better. I'm growing more and more confident that we're in good shape to win the division while, at the same time, feeling like our chances of catching New Orleans are quickly disappearing. Need a little help from you clowns in the Atlantic here. Thanks.
