2051.1: Four Sims Left...

Post by Rubaboo » Mon Jul 25, 2022 1:40 pm

Current Position: 87-52, 1st Place, JL Frontier
Lay of the Land: 2.5 games ahead of Calgary, 6 ahead of Phoenix in the Frontier race with a Magic Number of 20. 4 wins behind New Orleans for the JL's #1 seed.
Last Sim Results:
9/1: @ Charlotte - Win, 9-2
9/2: @ Charm City - Win, 3-1
9/3: @ Charm City - Win, 11-5
9/4: @ charm City - Win, 11-6
9/5: @ Charm City - Loss, 0-10
9/7: vs San Antonio - Loss, 5-11
9/7: vs San Antonio - Win, 14-2

GM Commentary:
5-2 last sim. All wins are helpful at this point, obviously. Roster expansion provided us with an opportunity to add some reinforcements to our staff which should prove to be greatly helpful the rest of the way as we have no scheduled off days. It's a rough stretch but we'll take it to keep the momentum up. Piling up wins will help give some space between us and Calgary, which would be nice.

Upcoming Schedule (Season Head to Head):
9/8: vs San Antonio (6-7)
9/9: vs Edmonton (3-7)
9/10: vs Edmonton (3-7)
9/11: vs Edmonton (3-7)
9/12: vs Edmonton (3-7)
9/13: vs Phoenix (Double Header) (8-2)
9/14: vs Phoenix (8-2)

GM Commentary:
Holy shit, how are we 3-7 against Edmonton this season? At any rate, if we can win the rubber match against the Outlaws and sweep Edmonton, we can be .500 against 2 of the bottom 3 teams in the division. Yay? We could potentially sink Phoenix's long-ish odds at the division at the end of the week as well. With no off days on the schedule, we'll probably opt to go to a 6 man rotation the rest of the way and try to position ourselves to be able to put our best foot forward in the post season.

Confidence Rating:
8 - I like where we're at right now. I'd be more excited if Corfield was pitching like I've come to rely upon him doing but we're winning games and that's what matters. It's nice to be chasing a division title for the first time in what seems like forever (it actually has been forever, my last division title was 2038!).
