2049.3: Zero Sims Left...

Post by Rubaboo » Sat Feb 05, 2022 9:27 pm

Current Position: 93-69, Wild Card #1
Lay of the Land: Finished a billion games behind Las Vegas in the division and one game ahead of Charlotte for the first Wild Card.
Current Playoff Odds (According to Stats+): Made it.
Last Sim Results: 6-1
9/26: W vs Calgary 6-3
9/27: W vs Boise 5-2
9/27: W vs Boise 3-2
9/28: W vs Boise 10-4
9/29: W vs Boise 4-1
9/30: L vs Phoenix 3-2
10/1: W vs Edmonton 5-4

GM Commentary:
Holy hell, we finished strong and get home field advantage in the Geoghegan round of the playoffs. I would have been happy just to finish in the tournament, this was more than I expected. I also managed to set up my rotation right so that Corfield is rested for Game 1! Huzzah! Also, my team didn't play the last regular season game! Double huzzah! Enough huzzahs for now though, we qualified for the tournament and now the real work begins...

Upcoming Schedule (Season head to head):
Geoghegan Round vs New Orleans (4-4)
10/4 and 10/5: vs New Orleans
10/7 and 10/8: @ New Orleans
10/10: vs New Orleans

GM Commentary:
Ok, home field advantage. Woo! Hmm... we were one game better on the road than at home. That's kinda neat I suppose. We were also 4-4 against New Orleans this season. Sounds pretty even all around. According to a smart-ish guy I know who writes previews named Wilson both teams were 3-1 at home in this series this season. That makes the home field advantage in this series a plus even if everything else is even up I suppose. I'll take it either way. In all honesty, I've always been a little terrified of playing against Jim's teams. Frequent listeners of AFBI will know that I swear that Jim either has dirt on Recte or uses some sort of dark OOTP sorcery to build his teams. I like my squad, have liked them all year, but I find myself nervous for this series. Jim, can we please agree to keep the voodoo dolls and dark spirits in the closet for this one and settle it on the field like honorable men? Please?

Confidence Rating:
8, up from 7.5 last week.
Dark magic aside, I like where my team is at. We've been white hot since the all star break and come in having won 11 of 14 since September 19th. Corfield can win a game by himself practically and the Valencia bash brothers have been bashing. This ride has been fun and I'm not ready to get off just yet.
