2035.6:The Stalwart Report

Post by Rubaboo » Sun Aug 26, 2018 6:21 pm

2035 is in the books and, as is often the case, injuries and fatigue have run roughshod over a large percentage of BBA players, causing them to miss time, in some cases significant time. This report is here to recognize the players that never need an off day. The players who come to work every game and plug away through the 162 game grind. Here are their names in all their sweaty, exhausted glory:

Jose Estrada
162 games played, 161 games started.
1B: 67 Games, 65 Started
LF: 90 Games, 90 Started
RF: 5 Games, 5 Started

Estrada is the lone man to have a 162 under the games played column for the Aztecs in 2035. He played 1B to cover for injuries to every day 1B, Mike Ellis, but played LF for most of the campaign. Despite heavy rotation throughout most of the lineup, Estrada found his name penciled into the middle of the order on an every day basis as the team didn't have a replacement for his power anywhere.
"I know Ghost wanted to get me more rest than he did, especially when I was fighting through my tweaked knee in the middle of the season, but I was struggling a bit early in the year and I told him and GM that I had to play in order to work myself out of a rut. A little time off works for some guys but not for me. I gotta be out there fighting through every day." said Estrada, "I'm thankful they listened to me and let me do my thing."

Honorable mention goes to starting DH Augie Plascenscia who made every start in 2035 until Juan Pablo Day. You'll get 'em next year, Augie.

Estrada is my favorite player in the BBA. I wish Mexico City sucked so I could steal him. Probably not going to happen anytime soon. :(

Ha. I believe I told both of you guys, and several others who've asked over the years, that if you make a giant offer for him he could be had. I don't really believe in players being untradeable. I will demand what I feel is good compensation for guys that I don't have a strong need to move but if the offer is right, I'd move anyone.
