17 days after Sunshine went down for the season, Billy Wise went down for several weeks with a separated shoulder after a collision while base running.
Two things become very clear with Wise's injury:
1) The acquisition of Emory Sharp after Sunshine went down was a good decision. Sharp added to my OF depth and will lessen the blow of having two outfielders go down.
2) Valentin Colon's versatility makes him extremely valuable to my team. He can effectively play any position on the diamond except catcher (although I would prefer not to have him in center) and his bat is a good one to have also.
In response to Wise going down, Colon will take his glove to LF, where he has a 10 rating, and Jorge Castellanos regains his starting gig at 3B. Castellanos had a very poor start to the season but hopefully he's had enough time to get his head straight.
---A Sidenote on the Injury---
The Box Score has a little note about Wise's injury on the bottom but he played the whole game, including an AB in the 9th inning, and was never substituted according the Game Log. The only thing I can think of is that he got injured in his AB in the 9th after reaching on an error when he collided with Brooklyn's 1B? Just an interesting tidbit...

I guess so. Box score says someone substituted for him in the ninth. At least he didn't get injured in a collision on a base on balls.

Or perhaps more likely slid into second on the ensuing fielder's choice trying to break up the double play and got hurt that way.Rubaboo wrote:The Box Score has a little note about Wise's injury on the bottom but he played the whole game, including an AB in the 9th inning, and was never substituted according the Game Log.
