Aztecs sweep 4-game series with Outlaws


Mexico City handles rival San Antonio


Game 1: San Antonio @ Mexico City
  • Jesús Fox delivers solid 90 pitch outing, earning player of the game honors: 5.1 IP, 5 H, 1 R, 2 BB, 3 K
  • Tim Gingras get the win in relief holding the Outlaws to 1 hit over 2.2 innings.
  • Key moment: Aztecs CF - Júlio Martínez delivered a key 2-run double iin the bottom of the 7th, putting Mexico City ahead 3-1

Game 2: San Antonio @ Mexico City
  • Richard Balgera pitched 7 solid innings earning him his 1st win as an Aztec: 7.0 IP, 9 H, 4 R, 1 BB, 3 K
  • Dave Horton takes the loss for the Outlaws after giving up 6 runs on 5 hits
  • Key moment: Aztec right fielder Júlio Pérez had a big run scoring double for the Aztecs in the bottom of the 5th inning. It put the Aztecs ahead 4-2
  • Noteworthy: Keith Jahnke went 3-for-4 with 3 RBI and 4 runs scored

Game 3: San Antonio @ Mexico City
  • Miguel Angel Hernández picked up his first major league win. The 22 year old prospect was in control from the start: 6.2 IP, 5 H, 3 R, 0 BB, 4 K
  • Tom Cripps collects 2nd save of the season after pitching a shutout inning.
  • Key moment: Keith Jahnke continued his red-hot start to 2065 by smacking 2 home runs. He also drove in 3 runs and scored twice finishing 3-for-5 on the day.
    Jahnke was awarded player of the game


Final: Mexico City 5 - San Antonio 3




Game 4: San Antonio @ Mexico City
  • Arlen Dawkins picked up the win after throwing three scoreless innings in relief of Dave Corfield who had another rough start for the Aztecs.
  • Key moment: In the bottom of the 12th inning tied 6-6, Aztec 2B Randy Wright drilled a fastball over the left field fence to walk it off for Mexico City in dramatic fashion.
  • Noteworthy: Júlio Pérez had a 3-RBI game by contributing a single and a home run.

He is right-handed but no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't get it to show him batting right-handed. Oh well, this works good enough to show the walk off I guess

Big series for Mexico City. Time to bank the wins.

And, yeah, it takes work to get what you want, but despite the oddities the jump in image quality month-over-month for things like this has been amazing.
