Big changes in the last two years have led to a vastly different rotation entering 1997. Barring any changes, here is the probable rotation for the Wolves come opening day.
1) Chip Foodie - Foodie begins his first full year as a member of the Wolves. Chip brings a hard fastball with three good complementary pitches. Hard thrower though he is, Foodie's best quality is his pinpoint control. Foodie is a little prone to the long ball, so he isn't really an ideal ace, but would make an excellent second starter.
2) Robert Walton - A solid workhorse, Walton has had two straight sub 4.00 ERA seasons and eats up a ton of innings. A solid middle of the rotation starter.
3) Tyree Wills - A younger version of Robert Walton. Wills shows all the signs of being a pitcher with almost the exact tool set as Walton. Another pitcher who can carry the innings workload.
4) Justin Marco - Marco is immensely talented with a wicked cut fastball and an equally devastating curveball. He has enough stamina to hold up to the workload of a starting pitcher. But his lack of a third pitch may force him into the bullpen eventually. The Wolves will give Marco every chance to claim a spot in the rotation in 1997.
5) Jessie Wright - Wright has the kind of talent that first rate rotations are build around. Obtained in a trade last season, Wright is still fairly raw and could use another season, or part of one, at AAA. Nonetheless, the team hopes Jessie could be the guy that eventually leads Madison to the Landis Series. Four good pitches, led by a blazing fastball, and tireless endurance make Wright one of the most exciting young prospects in the game.

Wow, you've got the goods. Now, two pitch pitchers don't generally work as starters in OOTP11, and that's by correct design. Marco might need to be a multiple innings "uber closer".

You might end up setting a record for fewest walks by a starting rotation

Yes and no. The talent is there. But the #2 and #3 starters rely heavily on their defense behind them, so it had better be good. The #4 starter won't be very effective beyond five or six innings as a two-pitch guy. There's a lot of talent, but also some questions.recte44 wrote:Wow, you've got the goods.
