“More Days on Injured List than innings pitched.” – Gertie
Some things in life are guaranteed: taxes, Miller High Life at Shotz Stadium, and—apparently—Carlos Cruz’s next injury.
Just 3.2 innings into his highly anticipated season debut, Wolves left-hander Carlos Cruz left the mound clutching his arm. The diagnosis this time: biceps tendinitis. Which arm? Well, that’s where things get tricky.
Gertie says:
“I’ve looked at these OOTP reports three times now, and I still can’t figure out if it’s the right arm, the left arm, or maybe just both for good measure. At this point, if Carlos sneezes too hard, I’m half-expecting him to end up on the IL with ‘rib soreness.’”
Carlos Cruz’s BBA Injury History
- 05/31/2063 – Mild shoulder inflammation (day-to-day, 2 weeks)
- 06/29/2063 – Forearm inflammation (out 3–4 months)
- 08/22/2063 – Recovery setback (out another 8 weeks)
- 04/01/2064 – Biceps tendinitis (out 1 week… maybe)
“I did the math: the man has spent more days on the Injured List than innings pitched in his entire Wolves career. You almost gotta admire the consistency. He shows up, throws a few pitches, waves to the fans, and then it’s off to physical therapy. It’s like a part-time job at this point.”
Despite the injury bug, the Wolves still cling to hope that Cruz’s electric stuff—when healthy—can change games. But until then, Wolves fans may just need to invest in a commemorative “IL 10” jersey in his honor.
“Hang in there, Carlos. And whichever arm it is this week—ice it, rub some dirt on it, and for heaven’s sake, don’t sneeze.”
