Saint John’sNovember 16th, 2061 - The Saint John’s front office is proud to announce the promotion of rookie pitching coach Yorikane Miyamoto to the organization’s Boulder rookie club. Miyamoto’s extraordinary work with the Saint John’s pitching staff during the 2061 season was instrumental in transforming the team’s performance on the mound, posting a 2.62 team ERA, good for a top-four finish in the league and a significant improvement from 2060's mark of 3.50. This is the team’s lowest ERA in over a decade.

Saint John’s GM Simon praised Miyamoto’s contributions, highlighting his ability to develop young pitchers and help them realize their potential.

“We couldn’t be more impressed with what Yorikane accomplished this season,” Simon said. “The results speak for themselves. A 2.62 ERA is remarkable, but what really stands out is the work he did with individual pitchers—elevating their confidence, mechanics, and overall approach to the game. His attention to detail and ability to connect with young players are a huge reason why we were able to achieve such a historic season. I have no doubt he’ll do great things in Boulder.”

Miyamoto worked with a standout group of pitchers in Saint John’s this season, including 21-year-old Francis Paget, who posted a stellar 1.64 ERA over 22 innings, and Javier Soto, who turned in an impressive 1.49 ERA and 0.92 WHIP over 96.2 innings. Another highlight was Nelson Mojica, who struck out 88 batters in 94.2 innings while achieving a 1.90 ERA. Miyamoto also helped Harry Walker dominate on the mound, striking out 47 batters in just 46 innings with a 1.76 ERA and a 0.80 WHIP.

Reflecting on his promotion, Miyamoto expressed his gratitude for the opportunity and excitement about continuing to work with some of the players he coached this past season.

“It’s been an honor to work with such a talented group of young pitchers here in Saint John’s,” Miyamoto said. “Seeing guys like Paget, Soto, Mojica, and Walker take big steps forward has been incredibly rewarding. The improvement we made this year wasn’t just about talent; it was about trust, effort, and a commitment to the process. I’m looking forward to continuing that work in Boulder and helping even more of these players develop into stars.”

The Saint John’s organization is confident that Miyamoto’s expertise will make an immediate impact in Boulder, where he will work with another group of promising young arms as the team continues its commitment to building from within.
