Recte knows how to show the ladies a good time...
As soon as they arrived, Matt greeted them with open arms and a heartfelt apology. "Ladies, I am so sorry for what you went through in Phoenix. That was completely unacceptable. I promise, we’ll make your stay here in Las Vegas unforgettable."
And unforgettable it was. Matt went overboard to ensure they had the time of their lives. He lavished them with expensive Hustlers swag bags filled with exclusive merchandise, including jerseys, hats, and signed memorabilia. To top it all off, he arranged for them to stay at one of the most luxurious hotels in Vegas, renting out the entire top floor just for them.
"Well, this certainly beats the pokey," Gertie chuckled as they were escorted to their lavish suites.
But the real treat was yet to come. Matt had arranged for Tom Rudge and Bryan Harris, two of the oldest and—according to the ladies—sexiest players on the team, to personally welcome them. The ladies couldn't contain their excitement.
"He’s even better looking in person," Beth whispered to Gertie as they met Bryan Harris.
The cherry on top was a reunion with ex-Wolves closer Todd Stone. "Todd, we missed you so much!" they exclaimed.
Todd, equally thrilled, shared how much he missed Madison. "You ladies really made me feel welcome during my rookie year. It was like having a bunch of Annie Savoys around," he said with a grin, referencing the iconic character from "Bull Durham" who helped mold young pitcher Ebby Calvin 'Nuke' LaLoosh.
One of the ladies, with a mischievous glint in her eye, leaned in and whispered to Todd, "You know, I got the last laugh at GM Marko. I gave one of his star players a case of chlamydia."
Todd burst out laughing. "I always knew you had a wild side!"
Their time in Las Vegas was filled with excitement and glamour. They visited all the famous sights, from the dazzling lights of the Strip to the majestic Fountains of Bellagio. They even tried their luck at some of the world-renowned casinos, though they mostly enjoyed the free drinks and people-watching.
The highlight of their visit was undoubtedly the game at Palace Station Ballpark & Casino, where they watched the Hustlers dominate the Atlantic City Gamblers, 6-0. Jin-soo Chong was the star of the game, delivering a 2-hit performance, including a 2-run home run that put Las Vegas up 3-0 in the bottom of the fourth inning. His second home run of the season was a crucial factor in the Hustlers' victory.
As they cheered from their VIP seats, Gertie turned to Beth. "This is what it's all about. Good friends, great baseball, and unforgettable memories."
After the game, Matt joined them to celebrate. "I'm so glad you enjoyed your time here. We hope to see you back soon."
"Oh, you can count on it," Gertie replied with a wink. "But next time, maybe skip the car crashes and jail time."
The girls laughed and toasted to their adventures, already looking forward to their next stop on the tour. As they packed up their Hustlers swag and prepared to leave Las Vegas, they knew that this was a trip they would never forget.
As they boarded their VW bus, Gertie looked out at the bright lights of Vegas one last time. "Here's to the next adventure, ladies. Let’s show them that Gertie’s Girls are unstoppable."
With hearts full of joy and minds buzzing with the excitement of the future, they set off, leaving a trail of laughter and unforgettable moments in their wake.
