April 29th, 2059 - Gertie's Girls' next stop on their season-long stadium tour took them to the bustling and vibrant borough of Brooklyn to catch a game with the Brooklyn Robins. The excitement was palpable as the ladies dove into the quintessential New York experience.

As they approached the Brooklyn Bridge, Edith, always the joker, quipped, "I was here when they built this thing!" The ladies burst into laughter, appreciating Edith's playful spirit. "Well, almost," she added with a wink.

Their first culinary adventure was, of course, bagels and pizza. "You can't come to Brooklyn and not have a bagel," Betty declared as she took a big bite of an everything bagel slathered with cream cheese. "And the pizza? Forget about it!" Mildred chimed in, savoring a classic New York slice with gooey cheese and a perfectly crispy crust.

Walking along Flatbush Avenue, the girls soaked in the atmosphere. The hustle and bustle, the diverse mix of people, and the vibrant street life made it a memorable stroll. "I love the energy here," Marge said, dodging a street performer. "It's like the whole city is alive!"

Their next stop was a quick detour to Jay-Z's residence in Boerum Hill. "Can you imagine living here?" Gertie mused. "Imagine bumping into Beyoncé on your morning walk!" The girls shared a laugh, fantasizing about their potential celebrity encounters.

The Museum of Sex was an unexpected highlight of the trip. "I had to drag Ethel out of there," Mildred confessed, blushing slightly. "She was way too interested in the interactive exhibits!" Ethel, not one to shy away from a joke, added, "What can I say? I'm a curious mind!" The ladies enjoyed the playful and educational exhibits, learning more than they expected.

A trip to New York wouldn't be complete without seeing a Broadway show. They managed to snag tickets to the reboot of "Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark Part 2." "It was spectacular," Betty said, her eyes wide with excitement. "The stunts, the music, everything was just top-notch!" The ladies were on the edge of their seats, captivated by the thrilling performance.

Finally, it was game time at McDermott Park at Ebbets Field, where the Brooklyn Robins took on the Charm City Jimmies. The atmosphere was electric, with clear skies and a crisp breeze blowing in from right field. The game was a tough one for the Robins, who lost 8-4 to the Jimmies.

The star of the game was Adam Backhouse, Charm City's first baseman. He went 4 for 5 with a home run, a double, and two singles, driving in five runs and scoring once. "Getting a lot of baserunners and getting some timely hits, it's a good combination," Backhouse said after the game.

The Jimmies took an early lead, with Backhouse hitting a two-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put them ahead 3-0. The Robins struggled to catch up, and despite their efforts, they couldn't overcome the Jimmies' offense.

The game also saw Kazunari Chikafuji tying the Charm City regular season game record for runs with four, adding to the Jimmies' impressive performance. "We just couldn't keep up with their hitting tonight," said Brooklyn manager Rubén Vargas.

The girls enjoyed the game despite the Robins' loss. "You win some, you lose some," Gertie said with a shrug. "It's all part of the experience." They cheered, booed, and soaked up the lively atmosphere of a Brooklyn baseball game.

As they left the ballpark, the girls reflected on their time in Brooklyn. "This city has so much to offer," Marge said. "From the food to the culture to the baseball, it's just been an amazing adventure."

Gertie agreed. "Each stop on this tour is so unique. Brooklyn has a special kind of charm, just like Baltimore did. I'm excited to see what the next city has in store for us."

With Brooklyn now in their rearview mirror, Gertie's Girls were ready to continue their journey, eager to explore more of America's great baseball cities and the unique experiences each one had to offer.

It’s 2059… Beyoncé could be a “Gertie’s Girl” by that time. Haha

I love these. This whole series gets my Caleca vote. Granted, you’re wasting 2 points an article as these should be features. But I vote the league give you extra PPs for this series.
