**FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE**

**Madison Wolves Front Office Faces Draft Day Disaster: "Scruffy" the Janitor Emerges as Unexpected Hero**

MADISON, WI - April 29, 2057 - In a shocking turn of events on the highly anticipated draft day, the Madison Wolves front office, led by General Manager Mike Simon left for the day without setting up their draft board. This unprecedented blunder resulted in the team receiving the dreaded scarlet "A" on the Stats Plus draft site for their first-round pick. They now run the risk of not appearing the the yearly draft review by long time GM @aaronweiner.

As Commissioner Recte urgently called the Wolves front office to notify them that their pick was up, chaos ensued behind closed doors at the Wolves' headquarters. Unbeknownst to the front office, the desperate attempts of the unsung hero, "Scruffy" the Janitor, would ultimately shape the fate of the Madison Wolves' draft day.

Scruffy, known for his laid-back demeanor and penchant for storytelling, found himself at the center of the storm. "Well, you see, I was down in the storage room, ponderin' the profound choices of cleanin' supplies," Scruffy mused, his voice a deep drawl. "When I heard that there was some sorta draft happenin', I thought, 'Why not choose like I choose my mops and brooms?'"

As Commissioner Recte desperately tried to reach the absent front office, Scruffy took it upon himself to make the pick for the Wolves. "I reckon I got on that fancy Stats Plus draft thingamajig and saw this young feller, Jaime 'Stew' Canales, from our very own Harley Davidson Rebels. Seemed like a good, hard-workin' lad. Reminded me of a sturdy mop, he did."

Jaime Canales, a 17-year-old pitching prodigy hailing from Madison, WI, boasts an impressive high school track record. Standing at 6'3" and weighing 180 pounds, Canales is set to bring his talents to the Wolves as a right-handed pitcher.

"His stats spoke to me, like a well-polished floor after a long night's scrubbin'. I thought, 'This Stew kid's got potential, just like a fresh bottle of disinfectant.' And so, I made the call," Scruffy explained with a nonchalant shrug.

The Wolves may have faced a draft day disaster, but thanks to Scruffy's unique approach to decision-making, they secured a promising talent in Jaime "Stew" Canales. The janitor turned unlikely hero proved that sometimes, the best picks come from the unlikeliest of places.

I always write up the autopicks. Just with the requisite equal mockery.

Sometimes letting Otto pick for you is better than accidentally leaving on list pick with a list you threw together a round earlier.

I like Scruffy. I hear he and Gertie had a thing back in the day.
