The Wyoming Wire, Vol I, #3 - Postitional Analysis, 1st Base

1st Base

Image
Brock “Bomber” Lee (Madison) – 6’7”, 24 years old, 1B/3B, R/R – After acquiring Bomber from Hawaii in 1992, Bomber has been an integral part of this team for the past two years. The lanky first baseman makes good contact with average power and a decent eye. Defensively, he’s a good first baseman and plays enough third base to get by. Arbitration eligible, signed for 1 year at $2,435,714.

Jarvis Murphy (Nashville) – 6’0”, 21 years old, 1B, L/R – Jarvis has all the earmarks of a career minor leaguer. At best he can hope to be a backup, bat off the bench type, but don’t count on it. Still under a minor league contract, and likely to stay so.

Graciano Pezina (Rockford) – 5’10”, 20 years old, 1B, L/L – Pezina is a star in the making. He boasts elite contact ability and a fantastic eye at the plate. He also has good potential power. He’s still a little raw, and particularly needs to work on getting the most from his power. He will never be a good fielder. Still under a minor league contract.

Brock has had a couple nice seasons, a bit low on the food chain of MBBA first baseman though.

Figures, but my team wasn't good last year, so he looks like a stud.
