Hi there! My name is John Maggard and I am a 20 year old shortstop for the Saint John Water Wolves, a Minor League Baseball team in the Caribbean. I was recently drafted by the Madison Wolves and have been playing for the Water Wolves for the past few weeks. I have always loved the game of baseball, and I am so grateful for the opportunity to play professionally. It's been an exciting and challenging journey so far, and I wanted to document it by keeping a daily diary. I hope you enjoy reading about my experiences as I navigate life in the minor leagues and work towards my dream of making it to the big leagues.

As I stepped onto the field for my first playoff game, I couldn't help but feel a mix of excitement and nerves. The atmosphere was electric, and I could feel the energy from both teams as well as the crowd. I took a moment to soak it all in, knowing that this was a big step in my baseball career.

The game was intense from the start. Our opponents, the La Paz Toppers, were a strong team and we knew it wouldn't be easy to come out on top. Our pitcher, Kyle Beasley, did an incredible job keeping them scoreless through the first three innings. Our defense was also on point, with some great plays by my fellow infielders.

As for my own performance, I can't say I was at my best. I managed to get on base twice and scored a run, but I also made an error in the field. However, I was still proud of the way our team played as a whole. My teammates stepped up to the plate, with big hits from Brandon Zimmerman, Andres Contreras and Michael Huggins.

The game remained tight until the 8th inning, when we managed to score 3 runs to take the lead. Our closer, Oscar Lopez, was able to shut the door in the 9th inning and secure the win for us.

It was a hard-fought game, but I couldn't be more proud of my team for pulling through. This season has been a long and challenging journey, but it's been worth it to be able to experience this moment with my teammates. I'm excited to see what the rest of the playoffs have in store for us.
