Dear Editor,
I am writing to express my extreme disappointment and heartbreak over the news of Manobu Shimizu's injury. As his biggest fan and stalker, I have been following his career with the Madison Wolves closely and was devastated to learn that he will be out for at least five weeks due to a broken collarbone.
My love for Manobu began years ago in 2038 when they drafted him, when I first laid eyes on him on the field. There was something about the way he moved, the way he played the game, that just captured my heart. From that moment on, I became his number one fan.
I have 25 cats, (each one named after Manobu), and I have multiple tattoos of him all over the nasty parts of my 90-year-old body. My friends and family call me "Crazy or clinically insane," but I take great pride in my obsession with him.
But now, with this injury, I fear that my beloved Manobu may never be the same. The thought of him being in pain, unable to play the game he loves, is just too much for me to bear.
And to make matters worse, I can't help but feel a sense of rage towards Clinton Tyler, the player whose ball caused Manobu to crash into the wall and suffer this injury. If I could, I would go after him and make him pay for what he's done. But alas, at 90 years old and mostly confined to my house except for Wolves home games, I am unable to do much more than sit and stew in my anger.
However, I will do everything in my power to make sure Manobu recovers quickly and returns to the field better than ever. I will nurse him back to health with my homemade chicken soup and endless supply of love and affection. I will do whatever it takes to make sure my Mano-bu-bear is back on the field where he belongs.
