Brady Garrett, also known as the "Real Deal," is a shortstop who has been making waves on the diamond since his days at Wal-Mart High School. Standing at 6'2" and weighing 172 pounds, Garrett has a sturdy frame and impressive athleticism. He has a right-handed swing and throws right-handed as well.

One of the standout aspects of Garrett's game is his defense. As a high school player, he was a standout at shortstop, displaying excellent range, a strong arm, and the ability to turn double plays efficiently. In his three seasons at Wal-Mart, he played in a total of 117 games at shortstop and committed only 15 errors, resulting in a fielding percentage of .947. These stats demonstrate that he is a reliable and consistent defender with the potential to make highlight-reel plays. Garrett's defensive skills were recognized by his peers, as he was named to the All-State team in his junior and senior seasons.

Garrett has continued to improve defensively at Gulf Oil, recording 64 putouts and 158 assists in 50 games as a freshman and 59 putouts and 151 assists in 46 games as a junior. His fielding percentage in those two seasons was .987 and .991, respectively. These numbers show that he has excellent range, as evidenced by the high number of putouts and assists, and that he is capable of making difficult plays look routine. His strong arm and ability to turn double plays efficiently are also notable skills. In his junior season, he was named to the All-Conference team for his defensive prowess.

While Garrett's defense is a major strength, his offense has been somewhat inconsistent. As a high school player, he hit .227 with 6 home runs as a sophomore and .201 with 5 home runs as a junior. He also demonstrated strong base running skills, stealing 14 bases in his final high school season. These numbers show that he has some power at the plate and the ability to contribute offensively.

In college, Garrett's offensive numbers have been more inconsistent. As a freshman, he hit .212 with 8 home runs, but his batting average dropped to .173 in his sophomore year, despite hitting 6 home runs. This past season, his batting average took a further dip, as he hit just .193 with 10 home runs. While his power numbers are noteworthy, his overall offensive production has been somewhat disappointing.

One area where Garrett could stand to improve is his hitting approach. While he has a decent eye and good gap power, his contact skills and ability to handle off-speed pitches could use some refinement. Improving in these areas could help him boost his batting average and become a more consistent contributor offensively.

Overall, Brady Garrett is a player with a high ceiling. His strong defensive skills and reliable glove make him an attractive prospect, and his power at the plate adds another dimension to his game. With some fine-tuning of his hitting approach, he has the potential to become a valuable contributor at the professional level. It's no surprise that he was selected in the first round, 40th overall, by the Madison Wolves with their supplemental pick. The Wolves are a strong organization with a track record of developing talented players, and I have no doubt that they will help Garrett reach
