3 Wolves Den - 2051.01 - A look back at the 2050 Season

Post by CTBrewCrew » Mon May 16, 2022 8:41 pm

So close and yet so far away. Once again, the Wolves were eliminated on the final series of the year. 3rd time in the last 4 seasons. The one time we weren't we actually made the playoffs.

Madison, WI

November 4th 2050 - To quote Davis from the all time top grossing movie based on a video game that had a gorilla and a lizard in it that came out in April of 2018..."Well that sucks"

Coming down off the high of the 2049 season, expectations were high this year, and the result was a kick in the ol' bean bag.

What could have been, what could have been. Could the IT-snafu that cause the injury paperwork for Allende & Shimizu filed with the league offices that caused the two stars to miss an extra 4 games around the ASG make a difference? Who knows...who cares! Lets focus on the other positives of 2050 season.

Let's break it down...

Our update logo of now 10 seasons has FINNALLY made it up into Stats+! Take that Dave of Stats+ or whoever you are! We did it....we did it.
Perhaps that's just what we needed to get us over the hump! Not.

The team drew 3.38m fans through the gates at Shotz Stadium this season down only ~500k from last season. Back-to-back-to-back seasons of 3m+ fans at Shotz.... CA-CHING! The first time that's happened since the 2032, 2033 & 2034 seasons.

Largest Weekend Crowd for 2049 - Saturday May 28th - vs San Fernando - 44,498 - (W 9-2)
Largest Weekday Crowd for 2050 - Friday July 29th - vs. Chicago - 44,969 - (L 1-6)
Smallest Season Crowed for 2049 - Monday September 5th - vs Hawaii - 29,861 (L 1-4)

Overall, the stadium was over 90 % capacity for 74 of the 81 home games. Up from 61 last season.

Breaking the numbers down even further, Madison vs Chicago tops AGAIN this season for most fans thought the turnstiles. In a total the teams played 7 games at Shotz, where we averaged 44,793 (up vs 44,639) fans per game in 2049. Des Moines takes over the top spots in fans drawn to teh part, with 9 visits to Shotz, pulling in 360,367 fans. Could have been helped by the 2 extra dates.

On the road, once again #WolvesNation travels well this time to see how their boys would do against the pre-season favorite Popes! Helping line the already rich pockets of the 1%er GM @shoeless.db. Don't know what to say about Seattle, crappy team, crappy weather, and overpriced coffee. We have it on good sources that if someone broke into your car Seattle and you had two tickets to a Storm, game when you got up in the morning they'd be four! Thats how bad folks don't want to Seattle.

Playing vs Yellow Springs is still the top draw for 2050 Madison games, (3 years in a row 2048, 2049, 2050) pulling in 463,428 fans.

Individual Leaders & Team Stats

Good news didn't post a 0 against anyone....bad news only had a winning record vs a team with an .500 finish.

Need to improve my games vs Division opponents and not just those Pa-"suckit" teams.
