Note - Ira Dawson missed team photo day. The club has officially not released a reason why, but rumors are swirling that he spent the night before in the company of a young woman named "Gertie" from the Nashville area.
This constitutes roughly about a 19% turnover in the opening day roster from 2047, down from last year, but once again with the majority of it occurring in the pitching staff. Campos was the teams only FA P singing in the off-season, while Thornton is new (his first opening day roster) he was called up from AAA a few weeks after the season started in 2047, and spent the entire season on the 27man roster. Ira Dawson gets his 2nd shot with the team being the 14th pick in the 1st round in 2044. At 23 he was rushed up to the BBA due to a lack of arms at the time on the roster. It didn't go to well. So he was wisely sent back down to the farms minors to work on developing some. Lets see how 3+ seasons in the Minors have helped. Stud Subandrio fast tracked his way up to 27 man, impressing in the Minors last season, and again during this years spring training. Elmer stickles will replace Charles Passingham as the teams utility man in the OF. He was with the club as a late season injury replacement & playoff roster expansion. He did enough to earn making the 27 man roster.
GM Simon is still tinkering with the staff, still always looking to add another cog to the wheel during the season if needed. "We really did improve on those 1 run & extra inning loses from last season, by the tune of 8 games." GM Simon said. This helped the club make a push for a wildcard spot, only losing out on the last day of the season.
