The song played over the Wolves press room as GM Simon strode to the podium, to announced the Wolves 2nd free agent signing in as many days.
"I want to thank you all for coming today. It seemed just like yesterday when we missed the playoffs on the last day of the year. I know some of you may know that as being "Taloned". It was after that game that this player, our captain was uncertain on what his plans were in 2048. He approached me and we had some conversations. Let me just say this Keith, is a absolute professional, he knew the direction the club was looking to move, and where we at with the budget last season, and what his salary was. We stayed in touch with him and his agent over the offseason, and after some talks with his wife and his agent, he decided to come back to the club for one more year.
The music slowly fades from the speakers as SP 32yo team captain Keith Howard strolls to the podium. "Guess who's back....". <laughter erupts>. I would just like to thank GM Simon and Mr. bin Mohammed for allowing me to come back and play for the Wolves again this season. We had something pretty special starting here, and I truly want to help this club make it back to the playoffs. I feel that I can help provide some leadership in this clubhouse for these younger kids, (and some Ws) on the mound, I think its gonna be a great season. I just hope the fellas give me my old locker back....
The Wolves singed Howard to a 1year 1M contract down from the 5M he was making in 2047, providing them with some extra budget space to sign Shimizu and Miyamoto to long term deals.
