The Wolves front office decided to take the slow approach to FA this offseason, spending money on home grown talent, rather than making a big splash and signing someone at higher price. With the budget we have in placed that Mr. bin Mohammed has given us, we had to wait and see where the market settled in at." GM Simon said. "There were a lot big names on the market asking for a lot of cash. We has certain players targeted, and kept in contact with their agents, and Elijah was one of them."
The 30yo SP comes by way of Atlantic City, playing all 8 of his professional years with the club. The 2nd round selection in 2036, made his way thought the ATC minors collection 4x All-Star, a pitcher of the month and a pitcher of the year along the way. Spending only 3 years on the bus before making the big league roster in 2040.
He will provide some veteran leadership as we start to bring up some of our younger players from the minors. "He's a good leader in the Clubhouse and a good role model..." Coach Will Myers added. "We aren't' asking him to be the ace of this staff, just pitch within himself. His ERA has come down each of the last 3 seasons. Coach Vargas has already reached out to him. I think he will do just fine."
