Madison, WI

GAME 1 (LOSS 2-1) Another heartbreaker list in extra innings this year. Miyamoto pitched well enough for the win, going 4.1 innings allowing no runs and scattering 3 hits. FA sighing RP Brian Smith, blew the save (his 2nd), and Rookie Todd Stone took the loss giving up a HR with two outs. "This blows" said Stone. Offensively the team was only able to muster 5 hits.

GAME 1 (WIN 4-1) Jon Merritt continued to deliver this year (2.62ERA), going 3 innings an allowing only 1 run. Jaime Herrera, now 3-0, picked up the win in relief. He allowed no runs on no hits in 1.1 innings. Todd Stone was credited with the save for Madison, his 3rd of the season. Chris Mann got out of the offensive funk, hitting a 2 run double in the in the top of the fifth and was 2-5 on the day.

GAME 2 (LOSS 6-0) The team started out in May with a shutout by the hands of the Cyclones pitching staff. Keith Howard was horrible, allowing 5 runs in only 2.2 IP. That was enough for Omaha, as the bullpen only allowed one more run to score in the rest of the game. LF Torres and SS Soto each went 2-4 in the game. The team left 8 men on base during the game.

GAME 1 (WIN 10-3) Just what the doctor ordered. Hellllllooooo Tropics. 3B Salvador Allende was a vital contributor to the 10-3 Madison victory over Hawaii. The Wolves third baseman was 2 for 2 with a double and 3 walks. He scored 2 runs. SS Mauro Soto had a key at-bat with one out in the bottom of the fifth for Madison. With the bases loaded and the Wolves leading 4-3, he grounded out, driving in 1 run. Luis Torres was still a bit shaky, allowing 3 runs in 4.1 innings. But it was good enough as the bullpen shutdown the Tropics the rest of the way.

GAME 2 (WIN 7-3) Rookie Luis Manuel Alonzo proved critical in helping Madison beat Hawaii, 7-3. The Wolves center fielder was 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. Takanori Goto, now 2-1, (after being credited with a blown save) was credited with the win. He allowed 1 run on 3 hits, while striking out 1 and walking 0.

GAME 3 (WIN 5-2) Rookie Leonard Thornton's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a win, 5-2. The winning pitcher was Thornton, now 1-0. He tossed 6.2 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 6. LF Andrew Torres. In the bottom of the sixth, Torres smacked a 2-run home run off Hawaii pitcher Zak Johnson. It was his 1st home run of the season. The HR put the Wolves ahead, 3-2.
