Madison, WI - In what can only be described best by Commander Buck Murdock the Madison Wolves faithful where jumping from the nearest high-rise apartments in downtown Madison today after hearing the news that the team has lost their star player Salvador Allende for 2-3 months.
"This is a real kick in the balls" said one fan when calling into WMAD Sports talk radio today.
"GOD DAMN SIM #13!" Another caller said.
"Im' gonna shove a corn cob up the A#S of every DM player for hurting Allende. He's a bi-racial angel!"
Calls went on all week after the news.
Madison HC preached the "Next man up" philosophy in replacing Allende. "Look, there is nothing we can do about it now, we can't use this as an excuse if we don't make the playoffs. I have every confidence in Mauro that he will hold down the position defensively until Salvador recovers. The rest of the team will need to step it up and fill Allende's bat.
As the great Jimmy Dougan once said, "There's no crying in baseball."
With that HC Ramone got up and left the press conference.
