The Brewster Baseball Writers Association acknowledged 2043 Rule 5 rookie pick 22yo Juan Lopez as May's Rookie of the Month.
In May he held opponents to a .255 average as he struck out 32 in 29.2 innings. In all his appearances over the month (all in relief), he nailed down 6 wins and no losses. He compiled a 4.85 ERA.
For the season, Lopez has 19 appearances, 48.2 innings, and is 8-0, with a 4.25 ERA with 43 strikeouts.
