Every Day since 02/26/2040 the Madison Wolves faithful have had to sit back and choke down on their own version of the Brewster's "Bobby Bonilla".
For the last 3 seasons the ownership of the Wolves has been cutting a check to the bank account of one "Mons Raider" for 15M per season. (45M) in total for a man who never put on a Wolves jersey the last 3 seasons. Perhaps one of the all time best fleecing of a GM in BBA history. The GM that approved this trade, shortly resigned from the team soon after.
This year that ceremoniously check writing has finally ended. "It feels so good not to have to write that <bleep> check anymore." said Owner Ahmed bin Mohammed
In honor of this glorious day, owner / team have decided to hold some promotions during the season in recognition of this event. "'Hey, if I'm gonna write checks for 15M every season, I'd at least like our fans to enjoy some of that." The team has started to work with local designers to create some commemorative memorabilia to sell to the fans (I'm sure in order to try and make up some of those funds). More to come on that when available.
Some things ownership said they are spending the 45M on as part of the year long celebration:
- On tap for the home opener (and going forward for all home games). In the 7th inning of every game this season, the Wolves in game PR team-members will now fire air cannons into the crowd filled with shredded up $, totaling 15M over the season.
- Partnering with Coca-Cola & Kwik Trip Convenience stores of Wisconsin, the Wolves are now stocking the shelves with a new 30 liter commemorative #NoMons Coke bottles.
As for the rest, when asked Bin said, "I think we can think of something..."
