With the Rule 5 draft completed in the BBA the Wolves release the following press release
Madison - The Madison Wolves have drafted P Jonathan Merritt with the 14th selection in the 1st round. The announcement was made by President of Baseball Operations and General Manager Mike Simon.

Merritt, 23, was a product of the Des Moines system drafted in the 11th round of the talent stacked 2038 draft. In his short time he has moved quickly through the ranks making the jump from Short A to AAA in 2040.
"Incremental steps, we are just trying to get better at each position on this team, be it starter or depth. Merritt does that for us," said Yves. "We liked his 3 pitch repertoire, his lack of movement is a little concerning, but pitching in this ballpark should help with that." he added.
