With the Free Agent season well underway in the BBA the Wolves release the following press release
Madison - The Madison Wolves have signed relief pitcher Mario Villarreal to a one-year contract with a vested option of 1.3M if he makes the club. To make room on the AAA roster, right-handed pitcher Augusto Vasquez was sent to Boulder. The announcement was made by President of Baseball Operations and General Manager Mike Simon.

Villarreal, 32, is a career 57-110 pitcher with 6 saves and a ERA of 5.35 split between Louisville (23-24-1 4.43) and Des Moines (34-86-5 5.74)
He was named to the Venezuelan 2036 World Cup Team.
The innings eater Villarreal has averaged over 150IP in his 10 year BBA career striking out twice as many (1155) as hes walked (541). "Mario is the kind of guy who we know we can give the ball do and he will eat some innings for us, bridge that gap between our starters and our pen. I'm happy here's here." said Yves.
