Things have gone from bad to worse in Madison. The team is pretty much done for after a dreadful end to August and now the club is even more trouble. The Madison Wolves don't have a shortstop.

In the span of two sims, the Wolves have lost Oliver Burrell (.232/.270/.333, 3 HR, 23 RBI), Jharod Thealer (.261/.385/.332, 2 HR, 45 RBI), and Ton Kouda (.251/.310/.339, 1 HR, 16 RBI) to three separate injuries. Burrell could return for the last week of the season after suffering a strained shoulder. Thealer, with a herniated disk in his back, and Kouda, with a hamstring strain, will likely miss the rest of the season. Thealer and Kouda were injured just 3 days apart.

"Yeah, I don't know what we're going to do the rest of the way" said Wolves manager Millard Davis. "Maybe we can just grab a fan from the stands who brings their glove to the game."

In the Wolves final two loses of the last sim, from the time the last injury hit, Davis was forced to use Justin Urban (.292/.354/.521, 10 HR, 38 RBI) at SS. Urban, he of a whopping 1 Shortstop rating, had 4 games of SS experience coming into this season. He's now played 10 games at the position this season including 3 starts.

"I'm not comfortable playing there" said Urban. "But I guess you have to do what you have to do at this point."

The Wolves, who had played most of the season injury free except for Raider, now find 5 different players listed on the Disabled List. I guess we can now use some of the September call-ups to fill some roles now.
