That's What Cheesehead: 36.38 - Yet Another Debut

In the Wolves' ever growing search for wins, the team called up yet another player this past week to make his big league debut. RF John Dundee (6/9/6/4/7 Ratings) was called up from Triple-A South Bend and saw two games of action in the last sim. He went 2-4 in Madison's 6-1 loss to San Fernando and was 1-4 in Madison's 11-1 defeat by the Blazers at home.

"It's kind of surreal right now" said the 22 year old outfielder. "I knew I had a chance to see some action this season. I was told that during spring training. But towards the end of spring it became apparent there wasn't going to be room on the roster for me so I just decided to bide my time in AAA and do the best I could. I knew my time would come. And here it is."

Dundee was hitting .252 with a .776 OPS in South Bend prior to his call-up. The decent offense mixed with solid defense had him performing above league average. Wolves manager Millard Davis said Dundee will platoon against LHP for the time being until Mons Raider returns from the Disabled List in a few weeks or when Niccolo Machiavelli (.253/.308/.325, 1 HR, 18 RBI) returns from his injury.

Dundee joins four other Wolves rookies who have made their debuts this season. Natanael Barral (.277/.407/.426, 2 HR, 11 RBI),
Ross Quicker (.213/.297/.283, 1 HR, 15 RBI), David Katzenbogen (.229/.294/.346, 3 HR, 18 RBI) and Manny Martinez (.192/.266/.333, 3 HR, 10 RBI) have all made thier pro debuts this season with the Wolves.

Lots of debuts in Long Beach this year too. Feels good to have useable pieces in the minors, doesn't it?

I do have some pieces that can help fill out a roster or platoon. Just too bad I don't have a lot of studs.
