Here are the Wolves' top players for the month of August...
Batter of the Month

Charles Puckett
The Wolves' two-headed monster in the middle of the lineup of Puckett and Kengos have really taken over the last two months. Kengos won the team's POTM for July and Crickett has taken the award this month with some stellar play. Puckett hit .375/.480/.587 for the month. He didn't produce a lot of homeruns with only 3 for the month, but he did drive in 23 RBI, collect 39 hits for the month and score 13 times. He also drew 21 walks. With a hot final month, Puckett stands an outside shot of collecting 100 runs, 100 RBI, and 100 walks this season. He needs 13 runs, 8 RBI, and 25 walks to do so. The walks will likely prevent him from doing so, but you never know! Puckett is in the top 5 in batting average, on-base percentage, slugging, OPS, VORP, RC, hits, walks, and stolen bases. As of right now, he should be the front runner for the JL Sawyer Silk Award.
Pitcher of the Month

Jessie Wright
Jessie Wright is probably the closest thing we have in Madison to a true ace. He has the stuff rating and the pitch ratings. But he probably lacks the movement and control of becoming an elite top 5 pitcher in the league. Nonetheless, he probably has the ratings to easily be considered a top 20 pitcher in the league and in August he proved it. For the month, he went 4-1 with a 1.98 ERA and 0.86 WHIP in 7 starts. He logged 54.7 innings pitched for the month and struck out 59 batters while walking only 14. The highlight of the month was Wright's three 11-strikeout performances for the month. The Wolves went 19-8 in August, thanks in large part to Wright. But would you believe that while Wright won the JL honors for the month, we also had another starter go 5-0 with a 1.85 ERA and 1.17 WHIP?
