The Saint Johns Water Wolves clubhouse was filled with loud music and revelry late into the night, as the team celebrated a Sub League 1 wild card spot.
The team, whose record stands at 44-32, battled throughout the year, but ultimately saw the quest for the playoffs come down to the season's final games. We finished 4 games out of the division title but squeaked out the final wild card spot over Coxen Hole by 1 game.
"I'd be lying if I said we knew we were going to make it," said starting pitcher Forbes Taylor. "We did have confidence, but in the back of your mind you always wonder what's going to happen. There were some good teams pushing us."
Now the Water Wolves don't have to worry, as they are in position to potentially win the 3rd Angela Drake League championship in franchise history.
The team has made the playoffs in the last 3 seasons, however failing to bring home the title in each of them. Since GM Simon has taken over the helm as GM, the Water Wolves have won a championship (2042),and have made the playoffs in 5 of 11 seasons.
