Typically it is offense that rules the day in Madison. In 2036 it was nothing that ruled the day but typically selecting a winner of the Tucker York Award given to the team's top hitter is a little tougher. Normally there are several worthy candidates worth mentioning. Even then there might be one clear cut choice above them all. This year was not really one of those years. Three Wolves hitters posted WARs of 2.0 or higher and one of those did it moreso on the merits of his defense and glove work moreso than his hitting prowess. So it only left two worthy candidates and one of those (Mons Raider) was sidelined for a good portion of the year. So that left us with the only guy left worthy of claiming the award.

Jon Mick played in all 162 games this season as the team's DH and despite a dreadful final month of the season was named the 2036 winner of the Tucker York Award. Mick led the team in most of the major categories including Homeruns (46), Runs Batted In (140), Hits (177), Runs (100), and unfortunately strikeouts (130). For a very good portion of the season he led the Frick League in homeruns and RBI until that cool month of September that saw him hit just .248/.319/.410 with just 5 homeruns and only 9 runs batted in.

Mick made some career headlines this year as the 31 year old surpassed the 300 homeruns mileston as well as the 1,000 RBI mark. He'll likely start inching up into the top 3 of many of the power categories next season behind, well, those two guys who dominate all Madison offensive stats.

It is now the 4th consecutive season that Jon has eclipsed 140 RBI and the 6th time in his career he's surpassed 100. He also scored 100 runs for the 4th straight season as well.
