2011 V6 - Black Sox Make 2nd Straight Playoff Appearance

For the first time since 1996 the Chicago Black Sox made the playoffs for 2 years in a row.

"It was a tough year" said GM Keith Stuart. "We certainly expected more than 87 wins, but that doesn't diminish the success we did have. Omaha had a very good squad this year and both our offense and defense were very disappointing. We look forward to the challenge of overcoming Omaha as well as a talented Phoenix squad next year. This division is a tough one, but we will expect at least 90 wins next year."

When asked about the issues his team faced this year Stuart responded. "Realistically, I can honestly say that if I were in their shoes, other than Enrico Torres, Phil Owry and Alonso Rodriguez - nobody on the offense side of the field should be happy with how their season went. We will be open minded this offseason about making moves, but I expect improvement from everyone offensively next year."

Either way, by Chicago Black Sox standards, the season has to be considered a success.
