2009 V3 - Black Sox Select Stuart in 2nd Round

Post by kestu » Fri Feb 22, 2013 1:57 pm

The Black Sox today drafted SS Caleb Stuart from Western Union in the 2nd round of the amateur draft.

Stuart put up impressive numbers during his two years with the Wires, hitting .399/.442/.519 in 85 games. He also has solid defensive and base running skills and is projected to play on the left side of the infield.

"It's a dream come true" announced father/GM Keith Stuart. "He put up great numbers in college and we hope he can continue to improve within our organization and be a solid contributor in the near future."

Like I said on the draft thread, a very nice pick on Stuart. You've been picking all players from my short list! haha!

Glad to hear it - although I had Patton at the top of my short list despite having take a catcher in the 1st round. I liked that pick as well...

Thank you Sir. I was very close on picking Norton at 8. But I'm desperate for a young arm so I took Mazzola instead. I'm still lucky to have Patton available at 35.

Yeah I was really hoping Patton would stick around for my pick at 38, I was sad....ok... angry to see you grab him.
