2008 V2 - Your First Place Chicago Black Sox

The Black Sox got off to a hot start to the 2008 season by ending the first sim of the season with a 6-2 record following a very active offseason.

The Sox were led by both their starting pitching staff, namely Joshua Noble, Dave Corrigan and Clarence Murray, who combined to go 4-0 in 5 starts with a 1.77 ERA and 38 strikeouts in 40 2/3 innings, and their revamped defense which currently ranks 3rd in the Johnon League in defensive efficiency. LF Jesus Cruz, CF Chris Neal, SS Duncan Harvey and 3B John Wilkinson have provided near-flawless defense to usher in a new era in Chicago baseball.

Offensively Wilkinson and 25-year old DH Phil Owry led the way with .313/.405/.563 and .324/.423/.452 lines, respectively.

The next sim will bring a real test as the Sox face both Phoenix and Madison in two intriguing 3-game series'.

Ha - was much happier after the first sim when we deserved. Now we stake claim to simply being the only team over .500....

True. I hate all professional (used loosely) sports teams from Chicago (except the White Sox because of their hatred for the Cubs) in real life. Why not here too?
