Rocky Wattson is retiring after 18 years of pro service, including 14 years with Chicago/Huntsville. Wattson played 1,856 games (most in team history), had 1,845 hits (most in team history), and 1,046 RBI (most in team history). You can spend hours reciting all the awards Wattson has won in his career, but none are as important as the one we are presenting today.
As of today, no Chicago Black Sox player will ever wear #12 again. The number will take its rightful place on the walls of Vinnie Vitale Stadium to go along with #32, #58, & #69. Chicago will commemorate the retirement in a TBD home game next season.
In 2057, Rocky Wattson will be joining the Chicago Organization in a coaching role. It was initially believed Wattson will head back to Hunstville. Wattson spent his rookie year with Huntsville and a little know fact, he met his wife during that season. His wife, a native of Huntsville, met Wattson at a charity event held during the season, which Wattson participated in.
Congratulations on an outstanding career Rocky Wattson!

Wattson was always a great competitor for Chicago. I can see his style in my mind.
