New Class is here

Since taking over in 2054, the Chmura regime has stressed patience and that a strong prospect class will arrive soon. 2056 has been the year for these arrivals as Chicago now has 5 rookies in their lineup, 2 in their rotation and 2 in the bullpen.

The rookies are as follows:
- Ayyad Faisal (SS)
- Mark Kiernan (DH)
- Abidin Vigit (Utility)
- Julio Miller (LF)
- Tsu-bahr Hru (2B)
- Murugayan Malabanan (SP)
- William Mejia (SP)
- Bobby Sherman (SP/RP)
- Ken Foreman (RP)

Still in the minors to come up within the next year are the following:

- Tim Adams (SP) - Tim has been up and down in the majors last 2 years and by 2057, he should hopefully have a majors role.
- Stevie Bodine (SP) - Expect Bodine to push for major league time by June 2057.
- Trent Moyer (OF) - If Trent can hit for a slightly higher average, he should be in the majors by August 2057.

Chicago buying prospects?

On the surface, Chicago traded Chris Thomas for five players, including 2 prospects. Digging deeper in the trade, Chicago clearly bought prospects. They had Thomas on a 1 year deal, which was not going to be extended. They could only retain 50% of his contract. The trade was essentially trading Thomas and bringing in salary and 2 prospects. None of the 3 veterans will play in Chicago. In fact, Kelly and Krant have already been released.

From a very basic view - Chicago paid $8.4M for 2 prospects.
