Chicago Black Sox made a splash in free agency with the signing of former 1st overall pick Anthony Jones. Jones comes to Chicago after the past 8 seasons as a member of the Rocky Mountain Oysters organization. For his career, Jones has a 67-49 record, with a 4.79 ERA.

In the Rule 5 draft, Chicago made 2 selections with Ken Foreman and Brian Cobb. Foreman is expected to make the team as a middle inning reliever, while Cobb will be competing for a backup outfielder role.
General Manager Kevin Chmura wrote wrote: We are really excited about bringing both these players into the Chicago organization. With Ken Foreman, we are bringing in a reliever that can go multiple innings for us and fill that middle reliever role. That is where he will start his career, but long term we see him as a righty specialist, which is where he has shown great results in the minors.
With Brian Cobb, this is a long term play. Brian will not likely see much playing time this season, with a bit of developing still needed. With that said, it is no secret that Garza & Mori are not long term answers for us and we need to plan for the long term while we can. We see Cobb as a future starting left fielder for us as soon as 2058.
