54.12 - What to expect from new management
A new era of Black Sox baseball is upon us. With the changes, I wanted to take time and provide what you can expect from Chicago moving forward.
Team News:
I am in no way the story teller that Mike was. Unfortunately, you won't hear murder stories from me. You will, however, get plenty of insight into Chicago's team, player storylines and a strong dose of content on how Chicago will operate.
The Black Sox Preview: Each season during Spring Training, you can expect a in-depth Black Sox preview. In this, there will be Top 10 prospects in the organization ranked, a "futures roster" - where we project the team in 3 years if there are no trades. In addition, you can expect a recap of all offseason transactions. Lastly, it will include the official naming of captains, which will be one positional player and one pitcher.
Chicago Report: The Chicago Report will be the most consistent posting style you will see. It will recap the previous sim for the entire organization, inclusive of minors. The Report will also contain storylines around players & each one will end with a GM press conference/Q&A style format.
CBS Recap: The CBS recap will be shorter recaps, which follow trades, signings and moves we make. These will be posted with commentary on why the move was made and how it impacts the organization moving forward.
League Features:
BBA Roundtable: This will be a yearly post prior to each season that 4-5 questions are presented and a group of GMs are asked to provide their commentary on. The feedback will then be consolidated and put together for a league feature.
Organization Management:
Taking over Chicago is the perfect spot for me. Mike has run the team similar to how I like to run them, so I feel as if I have a head start. I am very detailed in building from within and making sure my minor league teams are developing players, whether it is a stud prospect or a 10th round pick. I hate the idea of rebuilding and believe that if we put the right structure in place, even if we are "rebuilding", we can still stay close to .500 with our team. I am heavily influenced by player personality characteristics, so it is unlikely I will have many "low work ethic, low intelligence" type of guys on my roster long term, regardless of talent. As far as the players I prefer, defense is important to me. High contact is also important to me. I would rather have a .280 hitter with 10-15 homeruns, than a .235 hitter with 35 homeruns. I do not put huge value in power hitters if their other attributes are not strong.
Hope this post helps in what you can expect from Chicago moving forward. I look forward to continuing the progress Mike has put in place and cannot wait to get more involved.

The Chicago Report reminds me of when Vic Caleca was the GM. Nice touch!

Great to see this level of engagement! Looking forward to the Roundtable and would love to be a part of it. It might be a great addition to the Media Guide.

Very similar to my writing style as I like to explain what’s happening and what I plan to do about it. Kudos

Agreed and I like it being a league feature instead of buried in the media guide to allow for more discussion on it.recte44 wrote: ↑Wed Apr 12, 2023 8:03 pmThis is an outstanding ideaOff TopicLeague Features:
