48:002 Many changes in Chicago personnel in offseason

News: Feb. 1, 2048: Well, a front office shakeup has taken place in the offseason. Notably, we have new personnel in all of the following categories:

Manager: Here's a surprise. They got rid of their seasoned manager for years to hire a new one. Antonio Velasco is the new manager, with a salary of $1.2 million per year through 2051. He spent the last three seasons with the Yinchaun Drillers (Mumbai's Rookie League) in the CBL. Our sources indicate that friction between the GM and the previous manager led to deciding not to renew his contract. The new manager is much more tactical in nature, and appears to be more amenable to GM input.

Leroy Shepard is the new hitting coach, with a salary of $601k a year for 5 years. Though he is inexperienced those that know him sing his praises highly in all areas, developmentally, hitting-wise, and pretty much everything else. He spent the last two years as the manager of the Johannesburg Freedom (AAA club for Jerusalem). This is his first stint as a hitting coach.

Joe Holden is the new Team Trainer. He is well-regarded in all areas except preventing arm injuries ---- something that the Black Sox are working on improving before the season starts.
