Sox Scoops 45.041: Sox Minor League Teams Have Improbable Run of Success

It’s been a season of sparkling success for the Chicago Minor League system:
Not only did every team at every level finish 1st in their respective divisions, every team also made the championship round of their respective league playoffs.
The Monclova Aqua Sox won the first Spike Nolan (Rookie) League championship in its history, beating the Traverse City Talons (Phoenix) 4 games to 3.
The San Pedro De Macoris Green Sox lost its Angela Drake (SA) League championship series to the Daytona Beach Cruisers (Phoenix) 3-0. The Green Sox were notable because team officials acknowledged they had chosen the roster solely on the basis of fielding prowess.
The Grand Junction Gold Sox lost its Charley Pegler (Class A) League championship series to the Toledo Liberty (Phoenix) 3 games to 1.
The Beloit Blue Sox are tied 2 games apiece in the 5-game Warren Cox (AA) League “Final Judgment” championship series. The final game against the Missasauga Spartans (Montreal) is scheduled for Sept. 21 in Beloit.
The Carolina Flight lead their 5-game Rupert Horn (AAA) League championship series, known as The Big One, 2 games to 1. One win would give them their first championship (and just the second in franchise history) since 2021.

So, lessons learned?
Not many, since minor league championships mean virtually nothing to anyone but, well, minor leaguers … but it does show that if you throw together a bunch of guys with 35/80 to 45/80 potential, you never do know what might happen.
Oh, and this: don’t sell short the value of fielding!

That's actually really impressive. Just don't get too used to winning in the BBA.

Well, at least the Talons can beat the Black Sox in 66.7% of minor league championship matchups.... Can't win much else apparently.

Carolina and Beloit both won their series - so three of my five minor league teams won championships.
Curse you, Talons!
As usual, of course, the Black Sox are the weak link in the system ...
