Hot Take

Let’s see … a couple of winning weeks in a row … almost back to .500 … losing streak due …

Yep! Right on time: 1-5.

The Sox never could stand prosperity, and this season is no different than any other.

It doesn’t really take a genius to see what’s up with them: the offense is horrendous, even by the generous grading curve we usually accord Chicago offenses. Part of the issue is that Hao Hang’s sophomore slump has extended more than a month into his junior year, so management punched his ticket this morning for a stint in AAA Carolina to see if he can work things out.

Carolina’s new hitting coach – Alex Dominguez – supposedly has “big talent” in that area, so we’ll see how he does with the drooping Hang.

So to speak.

The other issue is that the two rookie starters, despite tantalizing flashes of talent here and there, are pitching exactly like rookie starters. Sox fans are going to need to be a little patient and give Romeu Tameiro and John McClain a year to settle in, it looks like.

Worse things have happened.

Like the Sox offense, for instance ...

We kid. We kid. We kid because with loathe …

Life is a bit more beautiful when time is measured by the half inning rather than the half hour.
