Grand Junction, Colo. - The Grand Junction Gold Sox are one win away from capturing the first Charley Pegler League Championship in franchise history.
The Sox advanced from the first round of the playoffs by defeating the Hollywood Silver Stars (California) two games to one, then swept the Aspen Surge (New Orleans) in the second round two games to none.
That set up a Championship showdown with the Lake City Limes (Seattle).
Grand Junction took Game One by a score of 3-2 and then took Game Two 16-7.
“We’re right there, right on the edge,” said Grand Junction Manager Roberto Solis. “If we can nail down one more win, we’ll have fulfilled every goal we set at the beginning of the season.”
