Grand Junction, Colo. - With everything clinched that they could clinch, the Grand Junction Gold Sox took their feet off the gas in Week 22 and coasted to a 2-4 record.
Which, of course, didn’t make manager Roberto Solis especially happy.
“Who’s to say we rev it back up once the playoffs start? You need to stay focused in this league day in and day out, game in and game out,” he said.
“You can take nothing for granted.”
The Sox have just one game left in their regular season schedule: a home contest against Council Bluffs, and then they will take on Aspen in the first round of the Charley Pegler league playoffs.
“Hopefully, we’ll be dialed in then,” Solis said.
