San Pedro de Macoris, Dominican Republic – In the end, it was too much ground to make up – but the San Pedro de Macoris Green Sox gave it a game try, anyway.
The Sox began the final week of their schedule 3 games behind Big Islands Division leader Tortuga, but could only make up one game in the standings despite going 5-1 for the week.
So, San Pedro finished in 3rd place, just 2 games out of first and 3 games out of a wildcard spot.
“We’re disappointed for our fans and for the guys, but it was a great season and great experience,” said manager Ernesto Garcia. “I’m already looking forward to next year!”
